Gut gemacht, gut geschrieben und gut zu lesen. So könnte man Stil und Inhalt des Buches zusammenfassen.
„Warum unsere Gesellschaft Arbeitslose verachtet und sie dennoch braucht“ lautet der Untertitel deses Buches.

Als der Kampf gegen Hartz 4 und die Agenda 2010 begann und in den Jahren danach schrieben vor allem die, die es verhindern wollten, über das, was passieren wird.
Die Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung bietet in ihrer Schriftenreihe immer wieder gute Bücher an, die gegen ein kleines Entgelt, aktuell 4,50€ je Exemplar, bezogen werden können. Aktuell sind dort zwei Bücher zu finden, die thematisch gut zueinander passen.
Ernst Friedrich Krieg dem Kriege liegt in einer Neuausgabe vor. Das Buch mit vielen Fotos und Texten von Kurt Tucholsky ist ein Versuch, mit Fotografien aufzuklären und Gewalt einzudämmen.
Zugleich gibt es aktuell dort ein Buch von Klaus Baberowski zum Thema Räume der Gewalt. Ihm geht es darum, „was Menschen in der Gewalt tun und wie Gewalt Menschen formt.“
Schwerpunkt sind Schilderungen aus der Nazizeit, in denen detailliert dargestellt wird, wie dein Nachbar über Nacht zum Schwein wird. Ganz anders in Remscheid in Deutschland, nicht einmal eine Autostunde entfernt. Dort wird das größte Nazidenkmal der Stadt genutzt, um aktive Stadtwerbung zu betreiben. Die Geschichte wird von offizieller Seite nicht einmal erwähnt geschweige denn ordentlich aufgearbeitet und so am Denkmal kenntlich gemacht wie in den Niederlanden.
Daher habe ich nun eine Tafel gemacht, die mit wenigen Worten erklärt wie beschämend Remscheid mit diesem Teil seiner Geschichte umgeht und wie ahistorisch dieser Akt der politischen Klasse dieser Stadt ist.
So werden hoffentlich direkt die Zusammenhänge und die Versäumnisse klar. Remscheid wirbt mit einem Nazidenkmal als Vorlage und überall in der Stadt. So berührt die Vergangenheit die Gegenwart – und dies im Angesicht von Projekten wie der Liberation Route Europe. Aber alle öffentlich geäußerten Vorschläge, dieses Thema hier ebenso sachlich und instruktiv anzupacken, wurden ignoriert.
